In certain circumstances, you can also argue that a new lease has been created if the landlord accepts the rent from you, knowing that the tenant has left alone. You probably have separate leases if each person in the property has signed a separate contract with the owner. 3. What happens if your roommate doesn`t comply with the agreement?
