Disney Distribution Agreement

As part of the agreement, there was also discussion of the charter potential of Disney`s streaming services, including Hulu, ESPN and the upcoming Disney, as well as cooperation between the two companies to work on issues such as reducing piracy, unauthorized access and password sharing. With the launch of its own streaming service, Disney will terminate its distribution agreement with Netflix for new publications, starting with the 2019 theatrical offerings. This means that the films that will be released in 2019, including Toy Story 4 and the sequel to Frozen, will only be available on their own streaming service in the US – not netflix. In anticipation of its launch in France on March 31, 2020, Disney Plus has signed an exclusive sales contract with Canal Plus Group, the country`s leading pay-TV company. Burbank, Calif., June 24, 2020 – FaceBank Group, Inc. (d/b/a fuboTV) (OTCQB: FUBO) and Disney Media Networks today announced a comprehensive distribution agreement to provide the fuboTV live streaming platform with Disney`s robust offering of first-class news, sports and entertainment content from ESPN and Walt Disney Television. Paris, December 16, 2019: Disney France and Canal-Group today announced a new strategic distribution agreement that gives Canal subscribers access to a unique offer of films, series and documentation from the world`s leading entertainment company. The agreement, first reported by the French newspaper Les Echos and confirmed by Maxime Saada, CEO of Canal Plus Group, on his Twitter account, marks a new chapter in the long-term relationship between Canal Plus and Disney. The two companies have for many years had a programming agreement that allows Canal Plus to access the films of Walt Disney Pictures, Marvel Studios, Pixar and Lucasfilm. Under the new agreement, Canal Plus will be the sole distributor of Disney Plus in France, meaning that other telecommunications groups such as Orange, SFR, Bouygues Telecom and Free will have to go through Canal Plus to access the service. Canal Plus will continue to have exclusive rights to Disney content, including the “Star Wars” and “Avengers” films, and will also be the sole distributor of Disney channels in France, including Disney Channel and Disney Junior, and will continue to distribute the National Geographic, Travel and Fox Play channels.

The partnership with Channel Plus Group is an important milestone for Disney Plus in France, where most pay-TV subscribers use boxes to access content. Netflix, for example, has already entered into distribution contracts with all French telecommunications services – Orange, SFR, Bouygues and Free – while Amazon Prime Video has recently sealed contracts with SFR and Free.
